Accessibility statement for www.lib.ox.ac.ukThis is the accessibility statement for the Oxford University Libraries website. It covers the main site at http://www.lib.ox.ac.uk/. Other sites which are hosted on the www.lib.ox.ac.uk server (see site map) are not covered by this statement. Work is continuing to further improve the accessibility and usability of all the sites mentioned. If you have any questions or comments about the accessibility of this site, please contact the webmaster. Navigation aids
All pages on this site use structured semantic markup. Top level pages use a consistent navigation system (visually, a blue bar to the left of the page). When a browser does not display images there is a "skip link" at the top of the page to jump over this navigation bar straight to the main page content. LinksMany links have title attributes which describe the link in greater detail, unless the text of the link already fully describes the target (such as the headline of an article). Wherever possible, links are written to make sense out of context. Many browsers (such as JAWS, Home Page Reader, Lynx, and Opera) can extract the list of links on a page and allow the user to browse the list, separately from the page. In top level and recently modified pages, link text is not duplicated; two links with the same link text always point to the same address. Images
All content images used in top level and recently modified pages include descriptive Visual designThis site uses cascading style sheets for visual layout. If your browser or browsing device does not support style sheets at all, the content of each page is still readable. The format of this statement is adapted from http://www.techdis.ac.uk/seven/. See also the central Oxford University's Web Accessibility Policy. |
