Activities during conference
Banquet at Lady Margaret Hall
Sponsored by IBM
Guest Speaker - Colin Dexter
Colin Dexter is the author of the Inspector Morse series (Last Bus to Woodstock, The Dead of Jericho, The Remorseful Day, among others). All of the books are set in Oxford, where Colin Dexter has lived since 1966.
The Inspector Morse novels have been adapted for the small screen with huge success. Colin Dexter will be a very interesting speaker, and very appropriate for the Oxford setting! We are delighted that he will be able to come.
LMH will be the main venue during this conference and is therefore a perfect location for the banquet - we are promised a very different experience from the daily conference fare!
The Banquet will be held on Thursday 21st March 2002. The cost will be £35 (US$49.7) for non-delegates. A standard dinner will not be available at LMH on that evening. For a preview of the menu click on the college crest.
Outing to Blenheim Palace
![]() |
Blenheim Palace is the home of 11th Duke of Marlborough and the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. The building was completed in 1722. The Outing will be on the afternoon of Friday 22nd March 2002. The cost will be £15 (US$ 21.30). |
Reception at University Museum
|
The University Museum was built in 1860 to house the University's substantial collections of natural history exhibits. The reception will be held in the centre of the ground floor court area - an unusual location, next to the collection of dinosaurs! The reception will be on Wednesday 20th March 2002 at 7pm and will include a full buffet. The cost will be £20 (US$28.40) for non-delegates. Dinner will still be available at LMH on that evening so please make sure you only put yourself down for one dinner! |
Optional Pub Crawl
|
This will be on Thursday 21st March. Oxford has a huge number of pubs of varying character but consistently good ale! Click on the picture to find reviews of some of the best! |
Outing to Stratford
This outing will be a little different, in that it takes place on the Saturday afternoon after the conference has officially finished, and will only take place if sufficient interest is indicated when people register. It is not included in the conference fee and payment will be taken at the conference itself. We hope to be able to organise a trip to Stratford including seeing a play performed by the Royal Shakespeare Company.
