Frequently Asked Questions
If you do not find the answer to your question below please email the Conference Planning Team: conference@sers.ox.ac.uk
Q: What phone number will my family be able to contact me on at LMH?
A: The phone number for the GAUG 2002 conference office is +44 1865 274277, but if no-one answers that number, a message can be left at the LMH Porters' Lodge, +44 1865 274300.
Q: What phone number will my family be able to contact me on at the Bodleian Law Library (Tuesday 19 March, 9.30am to 4pm)?
A: The phone number for the Bodleian Law Library Enquiry Desk is +44 1865 271462. A message can be left here and will be taken to you in the IT room.
Q: What car parking facilities are provided?
A: Car parking is unfortunately very limited. There are parking charges in all the streets near the city centre. LMH has some spaces, but these will have to be reserved for disabled delegates or people doing presentations. We strongly recommend that you do not bring your car unless absolutely necessary. Oxford is very well served by public transport. If you do have to bring your car, let us know and we may be able to offer advice about where to park, but it is likely to be some way from the conference venue.
Q: I want to take advantage of the special rate for Thursday and Friday, but I also want to come on Wednesday - what can I do?
A: Unfortunately we overlooked this when we were designing the Registration Form. It is not possible to select the Special Rate and a single day on the same form. To get round this, you can send in two forms, one for the Thursday and Friday, and another for the Wednesday. Please make sure you only book meals, accommodation etc once! It would also be helpful if you could email us to let us know that the two registrations are in fact a single booking, so that we don't produce too many conference folders.
Q: Will I need to bring adapters for electrical appliances?
A: You will need adapters whether you are travelling from America or elsewhere in Europe (as for everything else, the UK is different from the rest of Europe!). Our appliances have a three pronged end and are 220 volts. You should be able to get adapters at the airport or in hardware stores. We'll also try to have a few available to loan out at the conference.
