Mon-Fri 9.00-19.00, Sat 10.00-13.00 (open as normal on the two May Bank Holidays) 0th week: Mon-Fri 9.00-17.00, Sat 10.00-13.00

Vacation:

Mon-Fri 9.00-17.00 0th week: Mon-Fri 9.00-17.00, Sat 10.00-13.00

Closed:

Public holidays, except in May as above; between Christmas and New Year

Admission and Borrowing Policies

Note that by necessity these policies are much simplified and provided for initial guidance only. Please check with the library for full details.

OU undergraduate students:

Admissions: all. Borrowing: some

English Faculty undergraduates - automatic registration for borrowing up to 10 books for 1 week. Students from other faculties are welcome to register, for academic purposes, on production of a valid University card.

OU postgraduate students:

Admissions: all. Borrowing: some

English Faculty research graduates - automatic registration for borrowing up to 12 books for 4 weeks. English Faculty and Film Aesthetics taught graduates - automatic registration for borrowing up to 12 books for 2 weeks. Students from other faculties are welcome to register, for academic purposes, on production of a valid University card; entitlement 8 books for 1 week.

OU academic and research staff:

Admissions: all. Borrowing: some

All senior members of the University and University staff may borrow for purposes of research and study. Senior members of the English Faculty may borrow 20 books for 1 term or vacation (with fixed return dates). Senior members of other faculties may borrow 12 books for 4 weeks. University staff may borrow 8 books for 1 week.

Others:

Admissions: some. Borrowing: some

Foundation Year students on courses run by the Dept. of Continuing Education may borrow. Academic visitors and students from other HE institutions are welcome to use the Library for reference purposes only in the vacations, providing they have a valid Bodleian Libraries reader's card. Associate Students are welcome to use the Library for reference purposes at any time. Access to special collections at any time, by appointment with the Librarian.
