Opening Hours

Note that opening hours may sometimes change at short notice. If travelling to visit a library you are advised to check with the library to confirm details.

Term time:

Open to members of Jesus College with access key. Non-members may use the Library strictly by appointment (see below).

Vacation:

Open to members of Jesus College except when the College is closed. Non-members may use the Library strictly by appointment (see below).

Closed:

The College closes at Christmas, New Year, and Easter.

Notes:

The Librarian's office hours are Monday-Friday, 9-5.

Current resident members of Jesus College only. Non-members may be permitted to consult modern books not held in other Oxford libraries on application to the College Librarian.

OU postgraduate students:

Admissions: some. Borrowing: some

Current resident members of Jesus College only. The Celtic Library is open to Oxford students specialising in Celtic Studies subject to the approval of the Jesus Professor of Celtic. Non-members wishing to consult the historic collections should apply to the College Librarian or Archivist (archivist@jesus.ox.ac.uk, 01865 279761) as appropriate; a supervisor's letter of recommendation is required.

Subjects Covered

The Meyricke Library supports study in all subjects taught at undergraduate level in Jesus. The Celtic Library supports study and research in Celtic languages (Welsh, Irish, Scottish Gaelic, Breton, Cornish, Manx) together with Celtic history, archaeology and culture. There is also an important collection of early printed books in the Fellows' Library.
