New borrowers should bring both their Union membership cards and University/Bodleian Cards, assuming the latter type is available to them. During registration, advice will be given on which card to use for subsequent borrowing.

All members of the Society may borrow 8 books for 2 weeks in term, and 10 books for the length of the Vacation.

Open to bona fide researchers in areas in which the Library has holdings not available elsewhere. Non-Union members of the University can have 3 consecutive days access (no borrowing).

Subjects Covered

Significant holdings of nineteenth century literature in most subjects; acquisitions are now particularly strong in the Humanities, Natural Sciences, Philosophy, Politics, and leisure reading; Economics, Law, and other holdings are being increased with respect to faculty/departmental reading lists. Readers suggestions in all these and other subject areas are always welcomed.
