Welcome to OWL 2.0!
This website is intended to be a useful resource for current and prospective library trainees, both within and outside Oxford, as well as those who are considering librarianship as a career. We aim to provide all the information you might need to make an informed decision as to whether this is the career for you, and to give you an idea of what to do next. The OWL website, from content to design to coding, is managed and maintained entirely by trainees, independent of their libraries and OULS. Its aims are:
- to provide information for current and future trainees on training positions in Oxford and the Oxford training programme
- to encourage those interested in librarianship or information work to apply for trainee positions in Oxford
- to give library trainees some experience of both organising and running a project, and designing and building a website
- to encourage library trainees and others interested in librarianship or information work to address current issues of concern to the sector
